BERNIE SANDERS...... INDEPENDENT SOCIALIST

Just as an FYI:  Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), announced a year ago that Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will host the Convention during the week of July 25, 2016. The Republican National Committee (RNC) will hold the 2016 convention in Cleveland, Ohio a week before the Democrats, from July 18-21, 2016.

I've had one question regarding the Democrat presidential campaign ever since the campaign season started......

How is it that Bernie Sanders is able to run as a DEMOCRAT when he is NOT a registered Democrat?

I know Bernie's caucused with the Dems since he's been in Congress.  But he is NOT a registered Dem.  I find that curious.

But then.... maybe there's an answer right under my nose for this. What if the head of the DNC - Debbie Wasserman-Schultz decides late in the primary season that Bernie CANNOT run for president on the Democrat side of the ticket.  That would clear the stage for her girl Hillary to become the candidate by default, no matter the delegates Bernie may amass prior to the convention.

Would disqualifying Bernie late in the game preclude him from running as an Independent?  (My fervent prayer, by the way, is that HE WILL).  Would Bernie be able to get on the ballots of all 50 states?  There ARE deadlines.  The parties' NOMINEES are selected at their respective conventions, but what about those making an independent run, like Michael Bloomberg is threatening to do.  Anyone running for President NOT as the candidate of the Democrats or the Republicans has until September, 2016, to get their act together.

As an aside - Wasserman-Schultz (D, FL) has faced backlash from members of her party for scheduling several debates on a weekend (one followed a Sunday night football game), when viewership is expected to be low. Democratic rivals Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley have argued that the schedule gives Mrs. Clinton an advantage over the lesser-known candidates, while Republicans say it shields her from further scrutiny of her record.  Debbie has not hidden the fact that she's a Hillary supporter.

But wouldn't it be interesting if it turns out Bernie isn't qualified to run on the Democrat ticket......
